What we collect

When you call, email or visit the shop, or send a request through the quote form on this website, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, and the details of the job you're asking about, including addresses for mobile work and vehicle details for automotive work.

The quote form asks for your name and phone number, an email address if you'd like a reply by email, the suburb, and the job details you choose, like the kind of work and how many doors. For a home security inspection, it also asks whether you own, rent or manage the property. There's room for a message too, if you want to add one.

For some work, the law and good practice require more: proof of ownership before we cut keys to a car, open a safe, or copy restricted keys. We sight these documents to do the job; we don't keep copies unless a record is required for the work performed.

Why we collect it

To do the work you've asked for, quote it, invoice it, and contact you about it. That's the whole list. We don't sell or rent your details to anyone, and we don't add you to marketing lists you didn't ask for.

Security work and discretion

Locksmithing is security work. Details of your locks, keys, key systems and safes are treated as confidential as a matter of course, and access to job records is limited to the people who need them to serve you.

Anything we note during a home security inspection is treated the same way.

Website

This website doesn't require accounts and doesn't ask you to log in. If analytics are used to understand site traffic, the data is aggregate and not used to identify you personally.

Requests sent through this website

The quote form sends your request to the shop by email, through Resend (resend.com), an email delivery service based in the United States. Resend processes and stores the email on its servers in Japan while it delivers it.

To stop spam, the form uses your internet (IP) address to limit how many requests one connection can send in a few minutes. It isn't saved with your request or sent to the shop. Like any website, our host's server logs may still record it.

Please don't put alarm codes, door codes or key numbers in the form.

We keep a request as long as we need it to reply and quote, and as part of the job record if you go ahead. How long we keep requests that don't turn into a job is still being confirmed, and this page will say once it is.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Contact the shop by phone or email below.

If you believe we've mishandled your information and we haven't resolved it after you've raised it with us, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
